Description
Two herons stand a branch apart in the cottonwood crown, both turned in matching profile toward the same point beyond the frame, the ripe canola behind them combed into golden rows by the field tracks. The nearer bird carries the pale, streaked neck of a youngster; its companion sits lower on a white limb with the patient set of one who has watched more harvests. Whatever they are looking at, they have agreed not to discuss it yet. A clean, elegant pairing made for a wide wall.
